The printer problem in rhel5

How can I close/open the printer?
I used the command"disable printer_name",but it fails. It says that the command does not exist.
And I used the command"/usr/bin/enable printer_name".but it fails. It says that the directory does not exist.
But I have got the information from the rhel4_video which shows the successful experiment.
Pls help me!
I am a fledgeling.
