the last 7 mb free space
 

Hi, When i create partition in fedora at that last it save the 7 MB free space automatically , why? and what is the use of that free space and who uses it and how ?

No one uses that free space until and unless u yourself format it and make a new small partition after installin Fedora.

The OS reserves it for helping with avoiding fragmentation and so that the root user can still access the partition, even if users fill it up.

It doesnot saves the 7MB free space; Its just that the partitioning program is not able to make the FULL use of each and every MB of your hard-drive. It's because no partitioning tool can guarantee the exact amount of space to be allocated to your partition. It just tries to format upto the nearest block of space possible to your specified size.

Just try making a partition of 10G with any tool you want and then see the exact size of the created partition; you'll find the answer...

Okay that space is the space that the hard drive uses for its own function. You will notice this for every single thing you format on the hard drive. You can not format this area. It is specifically for the hard drive.

There's also the problem that manufacturers are loose with terminology and tend to use powers of 10 whereas computers work in powers of 2 eg: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megabyte,
as disks get bigger the difference between the 2 definitions increases...
