The installer is unable to run in graphical mode

While trying to run a GUI installer package, I get this message

Application aborted with exit code 236. The installer is unable to run in graphical mode.

This is a new RHEL 6.3 host

I installed a host of libraries to attempt to resolve the issue. I confirmed that xclock works fine. The same installer works fine on RHEL 5.4 though the application supports only RHEL 6.x and higher.

I ran a strace on the install process. But the file is too large (> 20 MB) to attach here. I have put some lines around where the error occured below. Honestly, the strace did not make much sense to me. If somebody could advise on what I should look for in strace and any insights into the problem, it would be of great help.

strace extract:

It is a documentum content server installer program and is not supported in the console mode. Tried the same and exits with the error as such

"Hardware Management Pack Installer GUI Requires libXtst.i686 for an Oracle Linux 6.1 System (15766013)

If you want to use the Hardware Management Pack Installer GUI on a system running Oracle Linux 6.1, you need to run the following command to install libXtst.i686:

yum install libXtst.i686
Workaround

Use the console installation mode instead of GUI mode."

It was suggested above.
