the antivirus Clamav scanning 0 (zero) files/directories

I am using fedora 17. I tried to install "Clamav " with
"yum -y install clamav clamav-update" in terminal and scan my laptop but the result is (1) nothing to do,latest version is already installed and (2)the scan message is like" No supported database files found in /var/lib/clamav".
Here I given clear information of the problem for best result.
All suggestions are greatly appreciated.

[root@SRINIVASARAOSEELAM amma]# yum -y install clamav clamav-update

Package clamav-0.97.6-1700.fc17.x86_64 already installed and latest version

[root@SRINIVASARAOSEELAM amma]# clamscan --infected --remove --recursive /home

Run 'freshclam' or whatever daily cron job script or binary the "clamav-update" package provides first?
