Hey all,
I've been trying to get the text mode to 1024x768 resolutions
but for some reason when I input the vga=791 code at the end
of the commands at the end of the line in grub I get a blank
screen and then several seconds later my computer starts
X and goes to the logon screen. I'm using Kernel (2.4.20-8)
I've added the command like so:
kernel /vmlinux-2.4.20-80 ro root=LABEL=/ hdd=ide=scsi vga=791
and as previously mentioned I get the blank screen during load.
You don't have quiet in your boot loader's append line, do you? Also, if you want high-res text, you might want to stop using a GUI login - edit the file /etc/inittab and change the line (near the top) that reads id:5:initdefault: to id:3:initdefault:
