testout.com on linux

I have been considering making the "switch" I'm tired of M$ and just want something different. I just don't want to jump into this without knowing this website will work, I've heard that Wine has issues running certain aspects for the website, and considering that, that website is where I do all my homework, I don't want to jump ship without knowing.

It looks fine to me. What exactly do you want us to test?

about the only issues with websites are ones that REQUIRE the use of the CURRENT Microsoft silverlight and the current Microsoft dot net
for DRM

there are ways around the MS only problems most of the time

so for the most part if everything worked in firefox on windows7
then they will work on a current linux OS using firefox

there are also some issues with linux and Apple using Flash
adobe is only supporting Microsoft with the new and current version

the work around is to use Googles Chrome browser

I was having issues when I was trying Ubuntu, with the lab portion of it, I've read elsewhere that there was issues with it.I just don't want to have a dependency on Windows I mean I have my oem for it if I need it but I'm just tired of Windows.

issues
What issues ?
if you do not tell us the full errors
then we can NOT help

you can not run Microsoft "exe" files on linux nor on apple

There is an emulator called "wine" that can mostly run some Microsoft programs

issues with WHAT?
Ubuntu?
this mostly unknown "lab program"?
what ?

well if you have Microsoft "*.exe" programs that YOU MUST use.
Then you are going to have to use Microsoft Windows Operating System to run the Microsoft programs .

But we still do not know exactly what it is other that just some website

from here ?
is this the software ?
http://www.testout.com/home/support/downloads
it is a MICROSOFT windows client

it STATES you MUST use
1) MICROSOFT silverlight ( moonlight might work but it is 2 to 3 versions BEHIND silverlight)
2) MICROSOFT dot net framework ( Mono might work bt it is 2 to 3 VERSIONS behind .net )
3) MICROSOFT Direct X ( there is NO!!!! linux substitute )

this is MICROSOFT software
you need to run it on a Microsoft Operating system

I got to the website and into some of the information but certain parts were freezing. Pipelight let me into the website but after that certain things would freeze I don't know what was causing it to freeze though

just using the website is mostly useless if you can not run the Microsoft ONLY software

running the software in wine ???? might???? work maybe ????????

use Microsoft "windows7" or "windows 8.1 UPDATE 1" ( 8.1 is going end of life)

Yes, you can see that from the Downloads page: http://www.testout.com/home/support/downloads
Surely there are similar websites that are not so M$-centric, aren't there?
