you can not run Microsoft "exe" files on linux nor on apple
There is an emulator called "wine" that can mostly run some Microsoft programs
I've read elsewhere that there was issues with it.

this mostly unknown "lab program"?
I just don't want to have a dependency on Windows I mean I have my oem for it if I need it but I'm just tired of Windows.
well if you have Microsoft "*.exe" programs that YOU MUST use.
Then you are going to have to use Microsoft Windows Operating System to run the Microsoft programs .
But we still do not know exactly what it is other that just some website

it is a MICROSOFT windows client
it STATES you MUST use
1) MICROSOFT silverlight ( moonlight might work but it is 2 to 3 versions BEHIND silverlight)
2) MICROSOFT dot net framework ( Mono might work bt it is 2 to 3 VERSIONS behind .net )
3) MICROSOFT Direct X ( there is NO!!!! linux substitute )

you need to run it on a Microsoft Operating system
