Terminals terminated by nVidia

I have a problem with not being able to access the terminals through control-alt-F2/F6.
This started after the installations of the nVidia Linux video drivers through YOU.
Everything else runs properly, I can create new KDE sessions, but I cant get back into the standard terminal. This is particularly bad if KDE locks up, I cant killall it in the terminal.

See my sig. for my specs.
Anyone know whats going on?
