terminal password


terminal password not being accepted.

Other than telling you to enter the correct password, there's not much anyone can suggest. Did you have a password set? Do you have a separate root user set? Which distribution of Linux are you using? Did it ever work?

yes i have set password. linux minit cinnamon 17.2. trying to install kodi xbmc and set up chromecast. in terminal i put sudo apt-get install kodi- enter ask for password. does not accept my password. i am newbie

Passwords are not echoed, no * or any other characters are displayed while you type in the password.

Just type it in and press enter.

You could just reset your password by entering the command passwd. see if that works

It's asking for your user password - not the root password (if you have one).
This will be case-sensitive.
I see your SHIFT key appears to be broken.
