Terminal?


I am trying to run a game i downloaded thru my torrents, and I cant see any of my torrents i downloaded to my desktop on fedora core 4, and i try running it thru the terminal and it said i dont have permission to do that... i tried when being loged in as su and su - username and it still did the same thing. Anyone know how to fix this problem? thanks.

You need to make the file exectuable
Code:
chmod a+x /home/yourname/gamefile
You can do the same thing through the GUI if you want by right clicking and selecting properties.

For future reference, you need to give a lot more information that that. "I downloaded a game through my torrents"..., wow, gripping stuff. That said, tkedwards and his crystal ball are probably right on the money Just a heads up for next time.

It was racer, and I did that, it didn't work.



Tai@localhost ~]$ chmod a+x /home/Tai/Desktop/racer_0.5.0-english.run




and it brought me to the next line

Course it worked That changed the permissions on the file, now type this:
Code:
/home/Tai/Desktop/racer_0.5.0-english.run
And it should run the installer
