telnet from linux to window 2000


hi all,

i want to access peer pc(ms2000) desktop from fedora5 can i access through telnet and yes then how?if no then tell me other similar option so i can complete my functionality, yes we are in same LAn then.

Don't use telnet for anything. No security.

Use ssh.

Install Cygwin on the Win2K desktop and set up the sshd to run as a service on the Win2K box. Then you can access the Win2K box by just entering the ssh command.

just use the terminal and type the command telnet 192.168.0.0

W2K workstation does not have a telnet server. You can install one but not really recommended. Realvnc is another suggestion.
