Telnet?


How do you get telnet to run in linux(Mandrake 10.1)

I typed telnet in my shell but it doesnt work. Am i just stupid?

Are you sure that it's installed ?

Most people use SSH over telnet, due to the security risks of the later...

thank you, I am guessing I have to install ssh as well.

so ssh is the better alternative to telnet?

Yes. See http://wiki.linuxquestions.org/wiki/Telnet_and_SSH, or just google for telnet, ssh and security holes
