Well, could you please describe what you expected the script should do? Please explain more elaborate what you want to achieve.

This script will collect all the scripts and make a packege, error is getting from line 182-199..... which should create the archive of that directory and copy to another location and extract it.

You should check which values the variables have (those variables in the pathnames) and look if the pathes really exist on your system. If they don't exist you should find out where and how this variables get their values and you'll find the failure in the script.

If you're sure that all pathes exist, check the permissions. Which distribution are you using?

If we assume (which scares me by the way) that everything prior to the following is correct:
Code:
183 if [[ -d ${COF_MAP_SOURCE} ]]
184 then
185 (cd ${COF_MAP_SOURCE}; tar hlcf - ./ ) | (cd ${COF_PACKAGEDIR}/${COF_MAP_TARGET}; tar xf - )
186 else
187 (cd `dirname ${COF_MAP_SOURCE}` ; tar hlcf - ./`basename ${COF_MAP_SOURCE}`) | (cd ${COF_PACKAGEDIR}/${COF_MAP_TARGET}; tar xf - )
188 fi
My question is, have you tried to execute these commands manually? I would interested to see your results of piping the subshells together (ie. each set of brackets creates a subshell)
and what tar thinks of you trying?
