Tally on Linux

Hi All,

I would like to know if anyone has been successful in running Tally on Linux. I have many clients who have small offices. They want to move away from costly proprietary OS.

There are alternatives for their office, email and internet software, but unfortunately their Tally cannot run on Linux.

If anyone can help in running Tally on Linux, then we can help them enter into piracy free os.

Any help is appreciated.

A search of the Wine AppDB is not encouraging.

An alternative would be run it in a virtual machine, but, as the VM would likely need network access, the Windows VM would be subject to the same security problems as a full Windows install.

What exactly is tally?

According to the Wine link, it's an accounting software very popular in South Asia, but also significant across the rest of Asia and Europe.
