System Won't Boot After Update, Elementary OS/Ubuntu 12.04 based

I booted up my computer 64-bit desktop pc (new build) after running the Update Manager yesterday and all I have is a black screen with white letters.
Iv'e never seen this before so I am not sure what is going on.

I hope that all my directory's and files aren't compromised-

Stopping System V runlevel compatability

What can I try?

Any assistance is appreciated.

Looks like it's fairly well on in the boot process. What happens if you hit <Ctrl><Alt>F1 to open a virtual console? If you can log in this, way, you could try running startx - you might at least get a helpful error message or could look through kern.log or other system logs for something enlightening. And/or, do you have a boot menu with recovery mode?

I tried Ctrl+Alt+F1 and I was able to login-

At login I typed "starx" and a small window opened and said:

With a black background and a small icon to log out-
Upon closing that window with the gnome message I got another message.
Which BTW has a lot of words cut off in the terminal that I can't see off to the left margin-

I think the word to the left of Module is fatal but it's cut off in the left margin--

I do have the GNU Grub Menu (either before the login or after the gnome message) with the option to go to Recovery mode-

Not sure what to try waiting for your advise-

While in console mode I tried:

sudo apt-get update install fglrx

After that I didn't get a prompt just a lot of output that I didn't understand-
Did a hard shutdown.

Not the OS is up and running but I have "unsupported hardware"
Looking for the driver for the Twin Frozer MSI Graphic's card-

I have forgotten how to install that driver--

I don't think that the kernel and headers were included.
I didn't see the installer for the Catalyst Proprietary Driver make mention of it-

I ran "uname -a" to see if a newer version of the kernel was installed and it was not. So the OS is still using version 3.2.0-54 generic.

Not sure what to try for that; Eddy1-

That this might be my case and is the current circumstance.

Note that the driver will work without the kernel module, but 3D acceleration will be disabled.

Should I be installing these pkg's?

Plus the other 2 libgl1-fglrx-glm for i386 and for 64-bit
