Unhappy System tray not working??

Hi there

I'm using Fedora core 2 w/ Gnome and although I've never had a problem using my system tray on Linux in the past (including fedora), for some reason, it's not working this time. In this case, I've gone into my GAIM settings and ticked the "system tray" box but it's still not working and I've also noticed that there does'nt seem to be a divider in that area either (where your panel applets usally go). I had an error with gome-panel the other day and reinstalled it via Synaptic but still no luck. Any help on this would be appreciated. All I want to do is have apps minimized to my system tray.

Thanks
