System Slowdown
 

I installed Amarok the other day on my laptop using Ubuntu Feisty. Upon running Amarok, the whole system slowed way down. Today I uninstalled Amarok, with some gain in performance, but still slow. Any thoughts?
What application can I use to access my Creative Zen mp3?

Can't comment on your slowdown problem,but i can suggest Gnomad2 as an application for your Creative player.
Should be available from Sourceforge.

Almost forgot! Gnomad2 may well be available via the Synaptic package manager.
This would help for an easy install.

The slowdown is probably due to KDE dependancies that were required for Amarok. You removed Amarok but the packages that were installed as dependancies are probably still there.

May you post a little more info:
1) your CPU and RAM
2) the output of the "top" program, sorted by CPU usage
