system login message

hi,
I would like to know how to setup a login message to say "Good morning" (to be displayed on all virtual consoles after the login prompt). I'm using fedora 10.

Hello and welcome to LQ. Since you want to know how and after login, best start by reading the "Invocation" chapter of the manual page for your default shell ('readlink -f /bin/sh'). It explains what files are sourced on login and in what order.

You might also want to check out MOTD [ /etc/motd ; `man motd` ].
