System Log Crashed


In Fedora 6, my system log crashes. Cool, huh? I have no idea ....

Please, anyone?

How can a system log crash??

Perhaps it doesn't really crash, however, when I click on the icon to find out why all the other stuff doesn't work it gives me a :-( screen with an unpleasant message and the disastrous event was sent to:

Try opening a terminal window and
cd /var/log
then read the file
/var/log/messages
In fact, in the xterm you could
tail -f /var/log/messages
then run whatever breaks and watch the msgs in realtime.
BTW, you'll need to be root.

Thanks Chris,

I viewed the log, but cannot see anything that could cause the crash via the menu.
