System goes into sleep mode, can't wake it up. Have to reboot.

Greetings all! I have been using this new HP mini-note PC and have been enjoying experiencing Linux for the first time. I have enjoyed the community culture here, and certainly hope to dig deeper to learn what this new environment has to offer.
My first challenge is that once my computer goes into sleep mode. However, the ONLY way I have found to turn it back on is to reboot.
I have tapped the touch pad, use the space bar, tried Cntl + alt + delete, etc.
Any ideas on how to wake up the system without having to reboot?

hi there,
your pc is going into 'hibernate' mode and not sleep mode. If you use kde or gnome go to power option and disable the hibernate mode.

That will solve your problem.
