System clock no longer updates.

Every time I boot up, I have to manually re-set the clock. When I first installed the OS,(Suse 10.3)it worked fine, but not now. I have been getting some messages about DCOPSERVER not running - it's beginning to do my head in!!
Please can anyone shed some light?

If the hardware clock is getting behind while the machine is turned off and the OS syncs with that at boot time, most likely your CMOS battery is dying.

You may also be updating the clock in the OS but you may want to sync it up with the hwclock command. Also check your BIOS to make sure it's reflecting the correct time.
