syslog dump/clear/erase/de-bloat/wipe
My syslog file is 22 MB in just a matter of days. When opening the file with a viewer it will take minutes just to load. When this occurs, I select All, delete, and save.
My question is, can this be done automatically? Thanks in advance! |

Yes. Use the logrotate function. You can find out how the logrotate command works with: man logrotate I do not know where mandrake keeps their logrotate script. You can probably find it with: find /etc -iname "*logrotate*" ___________________________________ Be prepared.
