Question Sync user/group passwords?!

Hello all,

I got a newbie question:

Is there a way I can sync the users/groups/passwords form one linux machine to another without config'ing NIS or other program?

Thanks in advance

Well, you could copy the relavent parts of /etc/passwd and /etc/group but the "correct" way to do it is to use NIS. Because it can get messy otherwise. The last thing you want to do is mess with the uid's and gid's causing everything to get confused.
