Synaptics Package Manager question
Recently upgraded to Ubuntu 9.04 and find that opening firefox causes the computer to freeze up.
Thought I would Reinstall Firefox to see if that would resolve the wenissue. Went into Synaptics, clicked on Installed and Marked all the firefox modules for reinstallation. Can't find an OK icon or an Apply icon -- no way to initiate the Reinstall. What am I missing? |
you had the apply button before selection ?
|
No couldn't find an Apply button or any similarly labeled button
|
Click on
settings => toolbar => uncheck hide toolbar |
Ooops didn't mean to step on your post
|
Thank you sir.

OK the toolbar came up and the apply button worked. I reinstalled all of the firefox packages and then an update occurred and I allowed that. First execution of Firefox worked second execution of firefox cause freeze of mouse keyboard and screen. CTRL ALT BKSPC did not work.
Any ideas? |
Do you use nvidia or compiz?
Take a look at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...ox/+bug/107093 Start firefox from a terminal to see the errormessages. |
Running from Terminal it consistently said While connecting to Session manager the authentication protocols are not supported
Firefox acturally came up about ten time before it failed requiring a Power cycle to reload How do I know if I am running nvidia or complz? |
