Synaptic installing error
I have a Synaptic error that reads every time I install a package.
error reads: "debconf: unable to initialize frontend: Dialog (Dialog frontend will not work on dump terminal , an emac shell buffer, or without a controlling terminal deconf: falling back to frontend: Readline Selecting previously deselected package ****" Then it goes on to reading database and installing package. I get this with or without Dialog installed. How I fix it? |
Yeah, I get that too. It's just a warning telling you that synaptic's simple shell display is unable to use the dialog program that some packages call up when they have user-configurable options, and that it will instead use a fall-back line display. I don't know if it's fixable, but it doesn't affect any of the vital installation functions.
