symbolic link

Hey there!!!

I try to run a program but I get the following error:

Quote:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: /home/manolakis/qnext/jre1.6.0_04/lib/i386/xawt/libmawt.so: libXext.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I have found the libXext.so.6 but I dont know how to link it to the program.
Any help will be greatful.

Thanks

Could it also be an issue with the file not having the right execute permission?

To link to the file, you'll need to know where the program is expecting to find the file**. Go to that directory and enter:
ln -s /path/to/libXext.so.6, where "/path/to/" is the location of the file you are linking to.

** The error message implies that it might be looking in the same directory where libmawt.so is.
