Switching from KDE to Gnome
Newbie here. I just installed Mandrake-Linux last night and chose KDE as my GUI interface. I played around and found that I like gnome a lot better. I changed my user so that it went to Gnome on login but when I start up the computer, it goes back to kde and I have to logout and log back in. Can anyone tell me how to make it always default to Gnome? Thanks

I think you can use the switchdesk command in Mandrake. I know in Redhat you just use:
switchdesk GNOME to switch to Gnome. It should be the same in Mandrake. Check the switchdesk man page for help. |
In the KDE Control Centre -> System -> Login Manager, stop it auto-logging in, then you can use the kdm to pick GNOME.
Might have to change the Display Manager from MdkDM to KDM via the Mandrake Control Centre -> Hardware |
Cool...I got it to work. Thanks!
