switching from gui to command in rh8

i am having problems with the ctrl+alt+1 and ctrl+alt+7

when I boot into the gui in redhat 8 everything works fine..i then switch to my first shell (ctrl+alt+1) once i try and switch back the whole gui has shifted to the bottom right and only 20% can be seen..the rest of my screen is black.

if i switch back to the shell im fine..

anyone know whats going on, and how to modify that so i can freely switch between the different shells and my gui without problem?

This sounds like a video driver problem...

What video card and Xserver are you using?

(check the XF86Config or XF86Config-4 file in /etc for the driver being used...)
