Switching digital sound on on late 2006 intel Imac running Linux elementary.
Hi I'm very new to Linux having installed elementary on this late 2006 Imac last week. I have managed to overcome most issues myself and have an Imac largely functioning as good as new. However there is one thing that I can't overcome myself. That is I can only get play back when pulseradio is set to analogue stereo as it was on installation. I suspect that for some reason pulseradio hasn't detected the internal digital amplifier. I was wondering if anyone knows of a Linux driver or anything that will help Pulseradio detect the amplifier.
Apart from this issue I am very impressed with linux. Switching from apple to Linux is easier than the time I had in late 2006 when I switched from windows to Apple. |
It is actually detecting the stereo sound card but for some reason I can't get sound on the digital setting. This is the terminal message when detecting the speakers.
