SUSE10.1 shutdown ??problem??


I'm shutting down the system suse 10.1. this is what happen=> The shutdown process still running untill the wallpaper is off then i see the suselinux shutdown page(the little circle running) it hang at here) little circle stop running) it is a problem or that's the normal way of suse shutdown??

Is the circle still spinning? Try pressing ESC when you see the SuSE logo. It should switch to a verbose mode.

If that fails, next time logout, then hit ctrl+alt+backspace. Then at the console, type as root,

Your motherboard may not be fully ACPI-compliant, in which case you need to disable ACPI or recompile the kernel and configure the " Use real mode APM BIOS call to power off " option in makemenuconfig.

it hang at the suse logo( circle stop spinning) . Micro , did you mean that I can shutdown my laptop by type poweroff at console terminal?

KimVette, can you tell me more about the ACPI & recompile the kernel things?
