I install SuSe pro 9.1 off of 1 dvd. Did not use thne other dvd. Did I get all the things that I need. I did not chose the builder or developer option. After reading several posts, I'm beginning to think I should have installed more. My question is how do I install the rest of the stuff?? Just put in the disc at start up, or after I'm logged on? This is totally new thing for me as I'm still used to point and click. I know I've got to get used to command line. Still pretty alian to me. Got lots more reading and studying to do. But would like to have all the things I need to play with. Compaq Presario AMD 3200+ 64 bit 1024 3200DDR 160gig H-D XP-home on other 160 gig H-D through a Linksys wireless router for my laptop
You need to use YAST (I think it's under the System option, if not, just look around). There is an "install programs" option, it should list all available programs and prompt you for the dvd.
Thanks for the quick reply. I'll give that a try. I've been off the SuSe H-D because if you'll notice my other post, every time I use the SuSE H-D then go back to the XP H-D my LAN information gets knocked off and I have to reconfigure everything.
I went to Yast, checked all the other stuff. Wow, it told me to put in dvd 1 side b. Installed all that then went and got the updates. Lots more stuff. What is on dvd#2 never used that yet? I'm on the SuSe H-D now.
