Suse not talking to Brother Network printer

I am a complete newby to linux with Suse 10.0 installed. I am attempting to talk to my Brother HL-5170DNLT.

Under Utilities
Printing
Printers I see the following:

Printer ready
Printer properties
name: Printer
Description: Brother
Location: Network
Resolution : Default
Status: Ready

If I attempt to print a test page it goes into the Que with a job# and printing, but never prints.

Using YaST control center I get the following under Printer
Queue name: Printer
Device 192:168.1.1:9100 HL-5170DN default

Below I see:
Brother connected as network
with Spool printer.

I don't know where to go from here.

I have gone to Brother and downloaded the Linux driver for this printer. I am not sure if it installed or not but I did access it and requested that it install it.

Help!!!

I understand you're a newbie - remember that Google is your friend. The OpenPrinting Database (openprinting.org) has information on using CUPS (the default Linux print subsystem, which I assume you're using) with many printers. Their entry for the HL-5170DN gives some starting points for the printer. If you're not sure about any of the terms, look them up - it'll pay off in the long run. I'd also recommend reading some of the documentation on the CUPS site and elsewhere to figure out more about how Linux printing works.

On a side-note, while I've used SuSE for quite a while, 10.0 is absolutely ancient - as in no-longer supported - now. I would advise you hold off on doing anything with the printer, backup any data you have, and upgrade to the current 11.0.
