You could try clearing out the cache and temporary files created by your web browser, which I assume is probably the Mozilla Suite, unless you installed the stand-alone Firefox. Just go into your webbrowser options and try clearing some things out. I've never had this probably when using SuSE 9.2 so I'm sorry I can't be much help.

I've not had this problem with Suse either, but I would also clear out the cache...though I find it hard to believe that's your issue.

I believe that your cable or dsl modem, if that's what you're using, is going faulty. I had a similar problem after 3 years of using my old linksys. I replaced it with a newer one and my hi-speed flies.

yes, i got a router connect to this computer... but the other computer which is using window don't have this problem.... so i don't think the problem lies with cable or modem rite?

Can you add more details to this?

oceanb70 02-04-2005 07:14 PM

hi, i don't know what kind of detail you want but i will try my best to include all the info inside... do let me know if you need more.

i got two com
ComA: Pentium3 600Mhz with 512RAM
ComB: Amd64 with 1GB Ram

Com A is running suse9.1 while Com B is running Winxp with sp2. I am using cable modem with a linksys wireless router, however all the computer are connected through cable. Com A used to run WinXp too and got no problem with the same network. The moment i install suse into it, everything was alright. But as the day go by, the network getting slower and slower. Com A often used by my little sister. She don't like to go other website except Neopets. This website contain alot of Flash. At first when the suse was installed, it take less than 10sec to get the flash loaded. Now, it will take as long as 30sec or even 1min. sometime it don't load at all. The same website running at ComB dont' have this problem. ComA other than surfing those Flash website, now also got problem surfing other website. It either take a long time to load up the website, or it will just say got error on the page...i need to press refresh a few time in order to get the website to load... pls help

You could have a faulty NIC in computer A, or you're experiencing a lot of collisions throughout your network. Have you tried replacing the NIC in computer A? You should give that a go and possibly even upgrade to SuSE 9.2

I didn't format away winxp that inside comA. it don't have any problem when i surfing with winxp.

Did you check your NIC? (network interface card).

oceanb70 02-05-2005 10:58 PM

i didn't check my NIC as when i boot up in xp, my network got no problem... so i assume it cannot be a hardware problem right?

At this point I have no idea what it could be. Unless you have a process intensive program running the background or a rogue service. What are the results when you use the top command as root from the terminal?
