SUSE Installation help

I downloaded and burned a copy of SUSE LINUX i have created a
partition 'L' for it BUT now how do I go about installing whats
burned on the CD ??? :(

You put the CD in your drive, reboot your machine and let your machine boot from said CD. The installation should then start and you just follow the instructions. I've never used SUSE, but this is the general procedure. You may need to make your CD drive the first boot device, so the machine tries to boot from that first instead of the hard drive.

Also, make sure you burned the disc as an .iso image and not as a data disc.

What he said. I made the mistake of burning it as data. When you burn it as data, you see the single ISO file. If you burn it in an ISO image, you see all the files as you would expect to see on any CD/DVD.

I have the downloadd in an .iso 622mb file but when I insert the disc and boot from my e: drive
the system goes to the drive (you can hear it) but than goes to the boot-password and hdd- password and then goes to my dual-boot screen (on which ONLY XP is listed) and then boots
xp ????? :(

It is an ISO image BUT you cannot see any of the files on it only the 1 622 mb suse linux file
I have also one disk with this .iso file broken down into all of it's seperate files BUT neighter
disk will boot linux.
I also do not know how to get it to load on drive 'L' since I do not want it on drive 'C' I have
Win/XP on it.
I'm getting frustrated. any ideas???

It still sounds as if you are burning the .iso as a data file. It doesn't work that way.

If you are using Nero, go here::

http://www.mind.net/hpage/nero.html

If you are using k3b select 'Tools-->Burn CD image'

There is a difference between just plopping an .ISO onto a disk and creating a disk image...
