How do i configure my network stuff so i can download suse in the suse setup screen????

It's not that difficult but it helps if you have another computer connected to the internet while you work. If you don't then you will need to find out the IP address of the server you are going to download from -- if you are connected via windows a PING command will return you the address
(use the same parameters as the dig command referred to in the instruction guide below. Now follow these instructions and you should be OK Here's the link -- for once something is clear http://www.aplawrence.com/Linux/crou...tallsuse9.html Good Luck |
Ok that helps but i one more problem. I have a Realtek network card RTL8101L do you know where i can get the module for that????

Usually, when it boots to your FTP CD, just press ESC then type "boot linux=<path to FTP server directory>" (check the list of mirrors at SuSE) and it might automagically detect your network card first.
If not, use the manual network installation and go to where you have to select the proper network module (REALTEK) to load into the kernel. After that, you can then continue the network install over FTP |
