SUSE auto disconnect
 
Howto disable auto disconnect in SUSE

I am using SUSE Linux 9.1

My internet connection gets cutoff automatically
if it stays idle for more than five minutes

you can adjust the time to 10 minutes by clicking 600 instead of 300 when configuring connection, but other than that my workaround is to use kopete and leave kopete on b/c it keep internet connection active as long as you are signed in.
