Suse and YAST?

I'm a newbit w/ Linux myself. I've set up Slackware 10.1 and am using Gnome. I'm trying to get my network card configured (all atempts are failing). I've gotten help from the forum. Two things I've run across in the forums are Suse and YAST. I have no idea what those are and was hoping someone could enlighten me. Thanks for the help in advance.

Suse is a Linux Distro. Yast is part of Suse and stands for "Yet Another Setup Tool".
