Suse 9, RH9 wont install properly. Mandrake 9 wont boot properly? Help.

I am having the worst experience ever trying to get linux onto my computer.

I have a Athlon XP 2700 with 256 PC2700 ddr, Geforce 4 ti4200, Gigabyte GA7VA-XP 2x80GB drives on RAID, and another lone 80GB drive.

During red hat 9, the install will always stall when it gets to installing this certain package, one of the core linux files(thats what the description says). I redownloaded the cd, reburned it, still same problem.

So I tried to install mandrake 9.2. Install went great, but now when I try loading into it. It first hangs on when building Mozilla registry or something like that. I manually reboot, and then it hangs even earlier on this line:

finding module dependencies: modprobe: modprobe: incmod pwc failed

I tried again and again, gave up on it, so I tried to install Suse 9 through FTP. Everything was going great, it downloaded that 40MB file and went into YAST. Then when its like checking my hardware or harddrives, it also just hangs after these lines:

kernel: md:Autodetecting RAID arrays
kernel: md: autorun...
kernel: md: ...autorun DONE.
kernel: NTFS driver 2.1.4a [flags: R/O Module]
kernel: NTFS volume version 3.1
last message repeated 8 times

By the way I'm running windows XP, and I'm trying to install linux on a partion on the single 80GB drive (which has some windows partitions)

Is there a general reason why all these distros alll dont work? Can someone explain Suse 9 problem, i wanted that one to work, cause of all the distros, that was the only one that was able to read all the partitions and drives on my RAID.

"Is there a general reason why all these distros alll dont work?"

They all seem to be having troubles with your raid array. I suggest that you unplug your raid and/or disable it in the BIOS and install SuSE. Once you get SuSE installed then plug your raid back in and go back to the problem of getting SuSE to work with the raid device. You may have to do something like compile a driver for the raid to get it to work.
