suse 9.3


installed suse 9.3 on extra computer. it shows a sucessful installation. when i boot up the computer it goes throught the boot section to a blac screen.
i left the computer on for about 20 minutes and nothing hapened.
when i was installing suse the built in video card was recognized.
help as you can see i a new to linux.

Does it do anything when you press Ctrl-Alt-F3 ? Or Ctrl-Alt-F2?

Did you test the graphics card and montitor when installing? are you getting a prompt, Login screen?

graphics card is built in. it was recognized by suse.
no log in screen unless i press ctrl, alt f2 or f3

Right. So press Ctrl-Alt-F3, log in as root. Then run the following command

sax2

That should reconfigure your X-server and hopefully cure the problem.
