He folks,
Am thinking about getting suse 9.2 via the mini installation as i don't have a dvd writer to write the dvd .iso and was wondering if anyone here has done it this way, and what their experience was, as I have heard from a few people that it can be very dodgy!
Thanks!
i installed from the mini-install iso and it worked fine.
the only problem was i couldn't work out where to put the "repository=" (cannot remember actual name of option, but the one to specify where to install from) bit.
it needs to go in the options line when the first boot menu opens. the boot menu that says "install" "boot from harddisk" etc.

Wow, I wish I'd used the FTP you did. I imagine it was that--a slow FTP server, cause my connection is 6MB. Still, DVD install of about 2 gigs takes 10 minutes.

FTP site from Cali is what used, 3.2G on the full version, takes a few hours still if there is enough bandwidth to even get on.
