SuSe 9.1 Success Story w/ Questions

Well I can't believe it...I've managed to install Suse 9.1 Personal on my Dell Inspiron 2650. It actually wasn't that hard at all. Some Nvidia downloading and network settings and I'm writing this from Linux. I love it but alas, there are some questions.

The sound crackles when I play MP3s. Any ideas on how to fix it. Another annoying thing that happens is while XMMS is playing my mouse (touchpad) becomes erratic and hard to use. I would appreciate any help or fix for this.

My next step is configuring my wireless card. I'm using the ETH0 that's built in to the laptop but wireless is my next step. It's a Netgear MA521. Any help or drivers out there that I need?? I noticed something regarding WLAN in Yast Online Setup but didn't understand what packages meant what.

Anyways Linux is freaking awesome. I've been trying to get this thing installed for a while now and I'm elated that the companies are getting very good with installation on various hardware such as Laptops.

congrats, for your wireless card I would recomend Linuxant.com... very easy to do. I would also recomend you consider suse 9.1 pro, personal does not have a compiler. you can get it dirt cheap on amazon, i paid 16 bucks for mine.

As for your success I am very envious! I havea an Acer 2502 and i have suse 9.1 on there... everything runs like a dream except the frigging video card's 3d accelleration! DAMN ATI TO HELL!!!!! </rant>
