Suse 9.1 - Sound on NVidia not working - Help
 

Hey kiddies, good ol' king o newbs is here agian. I need to get my Sound working with my CD player. My sound DOES work when i click on test in Yast - But the Midi one doesnt - Yet it refuses to play any of my CDs ! Why ? I don't get any errors and YaST recognises my nvidia sound card.

do you have a sound cable plugged into your sound card or motherboard from the cdrom?

Um... dunno ... Very sure it is though . Let's just say it works on Windows :P

that would be the first thing to check. on another note you could try installing the latest xmms, i think it uses digital audio extraction. most other cd players in linux require the audio cable i spoke of earlier.
