Suse 9.0 pro - mounting cd/dvd

hello all,

I have just installed Suse9.0 pro and am trying to figure out how to install or should I say mount my CD rw and DVD.

I have existing music also on this machine but is on my windows side. I was able to access the files but not play them, how would I go about playing these files?

Any help would be appriecated.

Thanks,

James

mount /dev/<cdrw dev> <path to mount it on>
With SuSE 9.0 you should be able to just double click CD-RW drive under /media/ folder and it should automount.

By access do you mean you are able to view them? How do you try to play them? Do you try to open them with the MP3 Player? or do you try double clicking on them?

By access I mean, play. I try to play them by double clicking on them which brings up the CD player but thats about all it does. No error message or warning signs given, the cd player comes up but the play button is grayed out I believe and it doesn't show any song in the play list.

Any thoughts?

Thanks for the reply.

run XMMS then open the files and attempt to play them. if all else fails, simply copy them to your linux partition! :-D
