Question SuSE 9.0 display problems

I have problems with display in SuSE 9.0. I changed settings for monitor and graphic card several times, but the problems persist.

When I start the computer, just before the 'log in' window the display goes all funny (broken color -lines - shades of blue). Then I pres Ctrl+Alt+Backspace and I get a log in screen.

When I go to Yast to conf. the display I get a message that screen AOC A562 is not found.

The hardware I use is:

monitor AOC LM520A
graphic card Nvidia GeForce4, MX-440SE, 64MB

I'd be grateful for any advice... Thank you.

Please help

I 'tried' to configure display, but I am obviously missing something.

I configured the monitor as VESA 1024x768@75Hz, 30-60kHz / 55-75Hz,
resol. 1024x768, 16 bit,
desktop resolution x 320, y 200, -by default
geometry 1024x768 56Khz:70Hz 75Mhz.

What did I do wrong?

OK, I hope I found the solution

I think the problem was that the graphic card did not support monitor resolution as there are no Nvidia drivers installed with SuSE 9.0. When I set the resolution to 800x600 it worked, but the picture was not clear.

So I installed Nvidia driver through Yast update in it seems to be working.
