Suse 9.0; screwed up KDE and wants to repair this

Hello,

As I'm a complete Linux Newbie, used to WinXP, I managed to screw up my nice KDE in NO time.

Installation of 9.0 distro went fine. Tried to upgrade to KDE 3.2.2 and guess installed base packages in wrong order (of date). Then got messages about 'Conflicting Dependencies'; uninstalled conflicting items and finished installation of base packages.

After reboot KDE 3.2 stating on small blue login screen. KDE logging in loading different items and stops with grey screen. Mouse works fine.
The Hints/Tips (small) screen DOES appear. Further no 'toolbar' nor background etc.

When rebooting also able to pick 'failsafe' booting me to 'command prompt'; logging into Vigor 10 works fine. StartX gives same grey screen.
No error messages nor freezing.

Will I be able to startup temporarily using 'StartX Gnome' once logged in Failsafe modus? Can I 'uninstall/remove' KDE from there and then Reload KDE?

Any valid hint or tip is wellcome ofcourse!

Probably just easiest to re-install. Especially since you killed it in 'no time at all'. I say this because it only takes about 20 minutes to re-install, but you may spend hours undoing what you did. I haven't tried, but if you stick in the first CD and boot up, look for a 'repair' option, and then select KDE?
