Angry Suse 8.0 sound


oki here we go

this is the problem
i cant get my sound to work ...

m-board soltek SL-75drv5
whit a sound blaster pro via on board chip ac97.codec

and my linux dist is suse 8.0

and i cant get it to work....

iv tryed everything

asla drivers .0.9.2

Ike not everything

plz help me

oki update... i can play cds and get sound butt i can not play mp3 or use teamspeak ....... i have tryd every singel mp3 player thar is in suse 8.0 and non work ...

im a mising something. ????

checked your mixer settings? for some reason the defaults have them turned all the way down.

yes this i now off and have turned all on but it still dont work !!!

Try run as root:

alsaconf

Select the correct soundcard module.


Have a lot of fun:-)

yes i tryed that befor and after iv installed the alsa drivers but it dit not work...

now what.. ??

What multimedia players are you trying to use? Since you've got sound working with your CDs, your card and permissions are okay. Do you get any error messages when trying to play mp3s or anything else? If so, please post them here. Thank you.

im using xmms (old standard )

and no, no error mess

iv tryed a cuple of mp3 players and non work (do ones tha come with suse 8.0 full installation)

Konfigure your kernel module manually (k_athlon):

Control Center -> System Administration -> Linux Kernel ->Sound -> A L S A

get the latest packages:

alsa-0.9.2
xmms-1.2.7
