SuSe

Hello all I have been reading through alot of threads yet I cannot find one that answers my question! I just installed SuSe I put in the first 2 disc's loaded great everythingis fine!! Now when I go to put disc 3 in while in linux it wont autoload? So I open it up and try as I might I have no clue how to get disc 3 installed as 4 5 and the KDE 3.2.2 Upgrade! I know this is probly a very simple thing but I still have windows on the brain:scratch: .. Also it will not detect my dsl modem! Is this because the rest of the discs are not installed? Or do I need to type my ip addy in manually? I did not recieve handbooks with this is there anyting on the net that has linux for dummies like me! I am a pro in windows but when it come to this I feel so dumb!! Or any books that are good! I dont want to have to keep asking questions if I can learn it myself!! But the two questions above I would greatly apprecaite any help! Thanks

Is your CD 3 burned from an iso image?
Are you sure it is burned properly?
Did you check the md5sum on the iso file?

You DSL modem will have to be set up after you install suse. At least I am fairly sure that is the case.

No it was burned from the origanal disc's!(so lol yes ISO.) SuSe is setup as far a s I know I mean at least it boots up I even tried putting the other discs in and see where the autorun is on the cd but during instalation it just asked for disc 1 and 2 not 3,4,5 or the update disc! Am I missing somthing!

It would depend on what you chose to install when you set up the installation. I'm going to guess from what you're saying that you needed only the first 2 CDs to complete the chosen installation. I think the base system is on the first CD and the other disks would be additional applications. If you want to install more applications, start Yast and then go to the software installation thingy. Yast also has a hardware configuration tool which may help with your DSL modem.
