Question SUSE 10 Install does not recognize Windows partition

I have Windows XP on a single 150 GB partition.

I want to dual-boot SUSE Linux 10.

When I install, I expect the installation to see
that I have a Windows partition installed and
recommend shrinking that partition, creating
an extended partition, and set up for dual boot.

Instead, it sees the existing 150GB partition but
does not say it is a Windows partition and does not
suggest creating an extended partion.

I can click on partitioning and get to where I
can resize partitions myself. But then I have
to make choices about grub and MBRs and things
and if it recognized it as a windows partition I
think it would do those for me, plus I don't know
if Windows will boot from grub if it doesn't
recognize it as Windows anyway.

Any and all help appreciated.

Oh - I am installing from the DVD that came with
the book SUSE Linux 10 Unleashed.

It is regular NTFS.

We installed it on a laptop at work and it
recognized the windows partition and suggested
we shrink it.

I expect it to look like an example on
novell.com in
coolsolutions/feature/16249.html
