SUSE 10.1 - disk 1 - sector errors?

I am finally putting Linux on my system to dual-boot with Win XP. I copied five cd's from SUSE's website to my desktop for my install. When I extracted each of the five ISO disks to a separate folder for burning to disks, I got an error each time I attempted to copy disk ONE. The error says "sector error 355169". (Note: the other four disks did not have any of these errrors when extracting them.) I am then prompted to either select IGNORE or QUIT. I choose IGNORE and continue on. There are literally hundreds of these sector errors that I was "forced" to ignore. Will I still be able to do a clean install by burning this disk? Has anyone else experienced these errors? Suggestions and advice will be most appreciated!

Thanks,

Al

The installation will probably fail. Which files are broken is hard to say, but it's disk one, so the one with basic components. You need to download it again, I'm afraid.

Thanks Mara. I wasn't thinking too much on this one. A new download did indeed come out clean. I'll burn the disks tomorrow and then hope the install goes smooth with a good program that will allow me to choose which system boots up every time the computer starts up.

:-)
