SUSE 10.0 on i386: 40+ identical boot dir's that I can't delete, on /boot?
Is this a bug? Collapsable tree & "Open in New window" leads to 40+ of the same thing, all swallowing up my boot partition? I mean fine, thats okay, can't use it for too much more, but I would like to understand this.
Is it denying me permissions to delete on grounds that its only a visual glitch, and that physically, their are no directories resembling? /boot/boot/boot/boot... etc All my hardware works to my knowledge, and is in pristine condition. And the OS is fully updated I believe. Thanks for any reply. |
I've noticed this on the SuSE systems at work, basically /boot/boot is set as a symbolic link to /boot. This is presumably to deal with bootloaders that don't expect you to have a separate boot partition and thus expect the kernel to be in a directory called boot of the filesystem they read. It's nothing to worry about, as far as I can see, just a bit odd.
