Suse 10.0 Gnome Splash Background (After GDM Login)
I am trying to find a way to change the blue/blue green background color behind te Gnome splash during Gnome startup; this is AFTER I have logged in via the GDM but BEFORE my desktop begins to display. I have seen numerous posts on concerning this subject on other distros, but none of the suggestions either a) seem to make a difference or b) the files where the changes need to be made do not seem to exist (at least under the specified name) where shown.

Could it be this one: /opt/gnome/share/pixmaps/splash/gnome-splash.png
If not, run 'locate gnome-splash.png' from the CLI to see where it is, and then replace the file with a valid splash screen and the same name. GNOME splash screens are available here. Cheers, -jk Ps. Welcome to LQ!! ;) |
It's not the splash picture during Gnome startup itself that I want to change:( , I have already figured out how to do that :D . It is the background BEHIND that picture that is giving me fits. Most suggestions indicate that a change to the .xinitrc file nneds to be made, but I have not been able to find that particular file.
